A PPT public hearing on State and environmental violence in West Papua was held at Queen Mary University of London from 27 to 29 July.
The rigorous analysis of the impressive written, visual and oral documentation led to a formal preliminary statement that was delivered on 29 July, responding very clearly and affirmatively to the prosecutors’ main requests. While waiting for this statement to be made public in the coming days, the Tribunal would like to thank the people of West Papua and the national and international organisations that made this event possible, through the message that can be read here. At the same time, the PPT wants to ensure its presence to give the fundamental rights of the West Papuan people due visibility in the international arena.
