The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal (PPT) joins with the most intense emotion and gratitude the commemoration of Fabiola Letelier, who died in Santiago de Chile on November 17th, concluding, at the age of 92, a very long activity as a human rights lawyer which saw her as a protagonist both on the national and international scene throughout the period of Pinochet’s dictatorship. Fabiola has been part of the PPT since the 1980s, contributing in particular to the issue of impunity and to the definition of priorities and contents of the Sessions concerning Latin America, with the clarity of those who had also lived first hand, through the trial for the murder of his brother, who had been Salvador Allende’s minister, the struggles for the affirmation of the autonomy of law from dictatorships and in international scenarios.
