The memory of people’s rights is an integral part of the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal’s heritage and history. Preserving the documentation of its sessions safeguards a documentary heritage of particular significance to the history of defending human rights and the rights of peoples. This preserves the experiences, testimonies and calls for justice that have shaped the history of many peoples around the world.
Against this backdrop, the General Secretariat of the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal and the Historical Archive of the Lelio and Lisli Basso Foundation are dedicated to preserving, reorganising, cataloguing and gradually digitising the PPT’s archival collection. Increasing the accessibility of these sources not only preserves the Tribunal’s documentary heritage, but also maintains it as a living memory capable of enriching our understanding of the past, present and future.
