On 31 March 2026, the Tribunal will convene at the Club des Avocats in Rabat, Morocco (programme), to conclude the 56th session on human rights of migrants by the Maghreb States, the European Union and some of its member States. A second event is planned for 20 April 2026 at the Press Club in Brussels. At these events, the panel of judges will announce their judgement, examining the facts documented during the public sessions in relation to international law, and providing a historical reconstruction of ongoing violations against migrants while identifying the responsible actors.
The session was held in Palermo from 23 to 25 October 2025 as part of the Sabir Festival organised by Arci. The indictment was submitted by 54 organisations represented by the Forum Social Maghreb, the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights (FTDES) and the Moroccan Forum for Alternatives (FMAS). Numerous witnesses, lawyers, and experts who had suffered, documented, or witnessed violations of the human rights of migrants testified before the panel of judges. In addition, the requesting organisations submitted extensive and detailed documentation attesting to the systematic nature, gravity, and persistence of violations of human and peoples’ rights against migrants. This evidence provides proof of a transnational regime of institutionalised violence.
The programme of the event in Bruxelles will soon be made public.
